About this board game
Task Team is a fast-paced party game for 3–18 players that takes about 20 minutes to play. Three teams take part as two teams compete in a madcap task while the third team acts as the referee.
At the start of each round, the referee draws a card and reads it aloud. The card explains the time limit—one sand timer, two sand timers, or no time limit—the number of players required from each team, the equipment needed, and the task itself.
Once everyone is ready, the referee announces, “Ready? Task Team!” The competing teams then scramble to complete the challenge. The team that wins takes the card and places it in front of them. The first team to collect seven Task cards wins the game.
- Three teams compete, with at least one player on each team.
- Tasks may require one player, two players, or the whole team.
- Cards can feature one sand timer, two sand timers, or no time limit.
- The referee team’s decisions are final.
After every task, the teams change roles. The winning team stays in the competition, the previous referee team faces the winner, and the losing team becomes the new referee. Before each challenge, teams decide who will participate so everyone gets an equal chance to take part.
If a task ends in a draw, another card is drawn to decide the winner. With simple rotating roles, varied requirements, and a clear race for seven cards, Task Team creates lively competition for three people or three teams.
