About this board game
Rock’n Rodeo: Der Festivalmanager is a festival-management board game for 2–4 players, with games lasting around 120 minutes. Players build a legendary open-air festival by booking bands, preparing the grounds, and setting up shops.
The festival begins with the purchase of Band cards. The music genre of each booked band—Metal, Punkrock, Reggae, or Indie—determines which fans and Fan cards arrive. Every new arrival adds another consideration to the developing festival and its campsite.
Camping is a central challenge in Rock’n Rodeo. Fans are placed on the camping grounds, but each one has individual requirements about which other fans they do or do not want to sit beside. Neighboring placements can therefore create either happy or unhappy fans, making campsite organization an important part of managing the event.
Once the fans are in place, they are assigned using a worker-placement system. Place them at the festival’s bands, shops, toilets, and other available locations, then work toward a successful event while keeping the situation on the camping grounds under control.
- Book bands across four music genres.
- Receive fans and Fan cards based on the bands you book.
- Arrange fans according to their individual neighboring preferences.
- Place fans at bands, shops, toilets, and other festival locations.
At the end of every festival year, players receive victory points for their fans, their happiness, and the success of the festival. Rock’n Rodeo combines band booking, campsite positioning, and classic worker placement in a festival-management setting where satisfying the crowd is only part of the job.
