About this board game

Corunea is a role-playing card game for 2 to 4 players, with sessions lasting around 30 minutes. Using cards and dice, it creates competitive adventures in the lands of Corunea without requiring tokens, paper, pencils, or any other playing elements.

Building a character begins with choosing the 50 cards in your deck. This process takes the place of rolling a character in a traditional role-playing game, shaping the abilities and options available during play. You then choose an Adventure, which establishes the session’s storyline, length, locations, events, encounters, and goals.

Corunea supports distinct styles of play. In a short one-versus-one arena duel, it has some of the feel of a trading card game with dice, while maintaining its own pace, action panel, and tactical focus. Longer two-versus-two adventures feel closer to a role-playing game without a game master, but their competitive structure makes them different from a conventional tabletop role-playing session.

  • 2–4 players and approximately 30-minute play time
  • 50-card character decks chosen before play
  • Card-and-dice gameplay with no tokens, calculations, paper, or pencils required
  • Short arena duels and longer competitive adventures

The game focuses closely on each character and presents actions in an intuitive, visual way. Attacks and defenses are meant to feel tangible: a poisoned blade can pierce protection and deliver venom, arrows can strike a shield, and an axe can follow with a surprising blow.

Magic and elemental abilities are part of this vivid action, with faharn flowing through a character as a call of fire takes shape. Rather than directing abstract armies or summoned forces, players stand on the front line, bending elements and cutting through foes. In Corunea, each fight can feel like a story that could be illustrated afterward.
