About this board game
Clear 4 is a fast card game for 2–6 players that takes about 15 minutes, challenging you to get rid of your twenty cards before anyone else. Released in 2025, it combines hand management, concealed cards, and tactical turns around a shared discard pile.
Each player receives twenty random cards from a deck containing ten copies each of 1–10, along with a few JOKER, PUSH, and CLEAR cards. Without looking, players build four table piles using a horizontal card, a vertical card, and a face-up card, while the remaining cards join the face-up cards to form their hand.
On your turn, play one or more number cards of the same value, play a special card, or pass. Number cards can be placed on the discard pile only when their value is not greater than the pile’s top card. When you play a face-up table card, reveal the vertical card beneath it; if it matches the value just played, you may play it immediately.
- JOKER: Counts as any value and can be played alone or with number cards.
- CLEAR: Removes itself and the discard pile, giving you another turn.
- PUSH: Sends the discard pile to another player, who adds it to their hand, while your turn ends.
- Pass: Add the discard pile to your hand.
The fanned discard pile creates opportunities for dramatic turns: when four cards of the same value become visible, the pile is removed and the active player goes again. Horizontal cards remain unrevealed until you attempt to play them, so a risky guess may help you shed cards—or force you to take the discard pile. In Clear 4, timing, luck, and reading your available options all matter.
