About this board game
Hemloch: Dark Promenade is a two-player card game played in about 30 minutes, in which rival ancient houses compete for influence across the peculiar city of Hemloch.
In a city where nights last for years and cults await the coming sunrise, each player commands minions to advance their house’s plans. The contest unfolds across Hemloch’s districts, with every player seeking control and the points that come with it.
The game takes place over three weeks, each representing a round. During a week, players take turns playing minion cards from their hands to their avenues. These plays help build influence, challenge the opposing house, and create opportunities to take districts.
- Designed exclusively for two players
- Three rounds, known as weeks
- Minion cards played from hand to avenues
- District control and influence as central goals
Every turn is part of the struggle for the city. Players use their available minions not only to gain influence, but also to thwart the other player’s plans. The unusual setting of Hemloch gives this head-to-head contest a distinctive atmosphere, from its long night to its strange inhabitants and waiting cults.
After the third week, the game ends. The player with the most points wins, making the final district standings the culmination of the entire three-round contest. Released in 2017, Hemloch: Dark Promenade offers a focused battle between two houses in a city waiting for sunrise.
