About this board game

The Cook-off is a strategic party game for 4–7 players with an approximately 30-minute playing time, where rival chefs compete to earn the most Victory Points with their recipes.

Each player has the same hand of action cards and secretly selects three for every round. Place them face down on your countertop in the order you want to perform them, then reveal the first card simultaneously with everyone else.

The revealed actions create opportunities for negotiation, sabotage, alliances, and conspiracies. Players discuss the order in which actions should resolve, including who might sabotage whom when possible. Cooperation can be useful, but nobody is required to keep their promises.

After the first actions are resolved, each player may still swap the unrevealed second and third cards. Once everyone confirms their final order, the remaining actions are resolved in sequence. Played cards then return to their owners’ hands, ready for new plans in the following round.

The contest lasts 10 rounds, with three actions in each round. Victory goes to the chef who earns the most Victory Points from their recipes after the full tournament, whether those points came from careful planning, productive cooking, or well-timed interference.
