About this board game

Mago Magino is a children’s game for 2–5 players with a playing time of about 30 minutes, released in 2004. Its editions invite children to help recover magical treasures while watching out for an unpredictable spinner.

In the Mago Magino edition, the evil Witch has taken all the crystals from the wizard Mago Magino. The children must help collect them, but the witch-shaped spinner can still transform the children into small frogs. Players therefore need to stay alert as they try to gather the crystals.

The Sunshine Rescue edition presents a different magical challenge. Children move through the field to rescue pieces of sunshine, with a rainbow shortcut offering another way to travel. However, a spinning storm cloud can point at a child and force them to hide beneath an umbrella until the sun rescues them.

  • Mago Magino: collect crystals taken by the evil Witch.
  • Sunshine Rescue: bring pieces of sunshine back from the field.
  • Changing hazards: the spinner may turn children into frogs or send them under umbrellas.
  • Race to the goal: in Sunshine Rescue, the first player to bring back three pieces of sunshine wins.

Across its editions, Mago Magino combines movement, collecting, and playful magical surprises. The central challenge is simple to understand: help the children complete their rescue mission before the spinner’s effects slow them down.

With its contrasting crystal-collecting and sunshine-rescue themes, Mago Magino offers a lighthearted adventure built around children, magic, and changing obstacles. Players must keep moving, use the available route, and hope the witch or storm cloud does not interfere at the wrong moment.
