About this board game

Good Dog, Bad Zombie (Second Edition) is a cooperative game for 1–4 players that takes about 90 minutes. As a pack of dogs in a zombie apocalypse, you must search the city by scent, rescue hidden humans, and bring them safely back to Central Bark.

Each player gets two actions on their turn. Run between locations, play energy cards, sniff scent tokens, or give another dog a lick to help them draw more energy. Carefully combine your options, because some energy cards can be chained together for elaborate tactical turns.

  • Run to reach different locations.
  • Sniff out humans in hiding.
  • Lick fellow dogs to provide an energy boost.
  • Bark, Herd, Chew, and use Good Dog abilities for distinctive effects.

At the end of every player’s turn, the dice add another zombie to the board. Zombies may eat unsuspecting humans or make their way into Central Bark, steadily increasing the danger facing the pack.

The Feral Tracker rises when too many humans are eaten or too many zombies enter Central Bark. If it reaches 10, the dogs become wild and forget their love of humanity. Rescue enough humans—6 on easier difficulties or 8 in expert modes—and the whole pack wins.

The second edition of Good Dog, Bad Zombie features new art, upgraded components, and new playable dog characters. Its dog’s-eye-view theme brings barking, sniffing, licking, and cooperative survival together in a race to build a safe future.
