About this board game
Colorium is a tactical polyomino-drafting game for 2–4 players, played in about 45 minutes. In a newly emerged galaxy where stars appear and the laws of physics constantly change, young guardians must bring order to the cosmos.
Each round, players draft a pair consisting of a shape and a color from a dice pool. They then place the corresponding polyomino piece on their own board, gradually filling the grid while adapting to the choices available.
The placement rules are intuitive, drawing on the familiar principles of Tetris. However, the scoring system gives every decision strategic weight. You may pursue another color to secure a guaranteed end-game bonus, or expand a color already on your board to score points for a mission.
- Draft shape-and-color pairs from the dice pool.
- Fill your personal board with colorful polyomino pieces.
- Choose between color bonuses, mission points, and progress up the board.
- Manage your growth carefully, since reaching the top can trigger valuable bonuses while potentially ending the game sooner.
Colorium challenges you to balance immediate opportunities with longer-term plans. A move that earns points now may limit your future placement options, while a riskier expansion could unlock a more rewarding mission or bonus.
The game continues until no player can draw another shape in their grid. Once the cosmic flows settle, the player with the most points wins. With its accessible rules and changing tactical priorities, Colorium turns familiar polyomino placement into a contest of timing, planning, and adaptable strategy.
