Tanxi

About this board game

Tanxi is a battle royale-style board game for 3–5 players, with games lasting about 80 minutes. Each player controls a character competing to be the last person alive on the Island of Challenge and claim the mysterious Tanxi stone.

Long ago, deities emerged from the depths of the sea around the island. Their arrival was accompanied by people capable of using the power of gems, and now the deities have chosen the island as a battlefield to find someone worthy of Tanxi.

On your turn, spend your character’s action points to navigate the island, draw new cards, gain benefits from the town, or fight other characters. You can also improve your statistics by equipping a range of items, including helmets, boots, rings, and weapons.

• Move around the island using action points.
• Draw cards and gain benefits from the town.
• Fight rival characters and equip items to improve your statistics.
• Survive the encroaching mist and the awakening deities.

Defeat does not necessarily remove a character permanently. If you die, you spend one turn outside the game before returning, giving the confrontation another chance to change.

However, the island becomes increasingly dangerous as the rounds pass. The mist gradually makes the play area smaller, while different deities awaken in fury. In Tanxi, staying alive means contending with both rival characters and an island that keeps changing around them.

The game ends when only one character remains alive on the island. That survivor earns the right to wear the Tanxi, a mysterious stone said to grant unmatched power.
