DIEX AÏE 2: Return of the Danes is a historical war game for 2–4 players, with approximately 180 minutes of play time, set in England shortly before the Battle of Hastings in the second half of the 11th century.

The game depicts the numerous fights fought by the Saxons as they resisted invaders from Scandinavia and the Continent. Its setting focuses on the conflicts that shaped England before the arrival of the Norman Yoke, while new scenarios place the Danes at the center of the action.

A campaign game is included to generate tactical scenarios. These scenarios are then played on the standard maps of the series, giving the campaign a direct connection to the game’s tactical play and providing a framework for linked historical engagements.
