About this board game

Senseï is a two-player abstract strategy game with 15-minute play time, in which the first player to reach the opposite side of the board wins and becomes the master of the temple.

The Monkey challenges the Wiseman in a sacred court, turning a simple contest into a focused battle of movement and positioning. On your turn, you can move two stones and send your character across the board, seeking a route to victory while trying to block your opponent.

The rules of Senseï are easy to understand, but the game offers considerable depth through its central tension: advance toward the far side while disrupting the path of the opposing character. Every move contributes to both your own plan and the effort to limit your opponent’s options.

  • Players: 2
  • Play time: 15 minutes
  • Goal: Reach the opposite side before your opponent
  • Play styles: Arashi and Shizukana variants

In the Arashi variant, movement is played without limits. The Shizukana variant offers a more Zen-like challenge, giving players another way to experience the contest. These two options provide distinct approaches to the same elegant race and blocking puzzle.

Senseï is a new edition of Diaballik. It supports the original Diaballik rules as well as new rules that allow players to move pieces as many squares as they want, changing the gameplay greatly. Whether approached as a direct race or a careful struggle for control, Senseï presents a compact strategic duel built around movement, obstruction, and finding the right path.
