Ada Lovelace: Legacy of the Analytical Engine is a solitaire roll-and-write legacy game for one player, with an approximately 200-minute play time. Across nine levels, you guide Ada Lovelace around the globe as she investigates crime scenes and attempts to thwart the evil plans of the elusive Mr X.

Each turn, roll two dice and decide how to use them. Place polyominoes on a crime scene to search rooms or collect evidence, or use the dice to trigger insight abilities from evidence you have already gathered. These abilities can provide bonus moves, help fill in more of the crime scene, score points, unlock permanent upgrades, and more.

Your performance after 15 turns determines which permanent upgrades you can choose. These improvements may introduce new polyomino shapes, long-term abilities, or other rule-changing twists, giving Ada new ways to approach the challenges ahead.

Every level brings its own complications and special rules. Locked areas, folded sheets, overlapping areas, multiple floors, distinctive layouts, and unique evidence abilities all reshape the investigation. The changing conditions mean that pursuing Mr X requires careful navigation of increasingly complex crime scenes.
