About this board game
Wizard Community College is a story-driven card game with role-playing elements for 3–8 players, offering a complete game in about 20 minutes.
Take on the roles of student wizards trying to work together through their college problems. Each player has spell cards in front of them and, on their turn, says what they intend their spell to do before attempting to cast it.
The magic is deliberately difficult to control. After the intention is declared, the active player randomly draws a disc from a drawstring bag. The disc shows a color and a symbol, and the player whose color matches the disc describes what actually happens, using the symbol as a guideline.
Spells will often fail to produce the intended result, creating a magical mishap and giving the group an opportunity to build an entertaining story together. The game’s role-playing structure leaves room for unexpected outcomes, whether or not the students’ plans go smoothly.
Players win by completing the objectives on a Major Event card within 2–3 rounds. Even when the objectives are not completed, the players will have created a shared story for their wizard characters.
- Standard game: approximately 20 minutes, with setup and teaching taking under 2 minutes.
- Epic game: a deeper role-playing experience lasting approximately 90–120 minutes.
With its quick setup, unpredictable spellcasting, and collaborative storytelling, Wizard Community College turns every attempted spell into a new chapter of magical campus chaos.
