About this board game

Ready to Rock! is a 3–9-player concert-themed card game with a play time of about 20 minutes, where rockers race through the crowd to reach the stage first.

Real concert photographs and guitar picks used as player pawns help create the atmosphere of a live show. Although it is a pure card game, it also uses placement game mechanisms: players build routes representing the audience, then move in different directions through the crowd.

Each rocker begins with four cards and draws one more card on each turn. A player may normally play up to two cards, choosing how to advance while also disrupting opponents’ progress.

• Route cards create paths through the audience.
• Wall cards block movement with obstacles such as the Mosh Pit, Hell’s Angels, and Headbangers.
• Instant cards provide bonuses or hinder another rocker.

Instant effects can help you draw extra cards with Beer, use three cards in a turn with Flashing Tits, or overcome an opponent with an Ear Plug or Smashed Beer. A blocked rocker can change the direction of the crowd to open new routes, while Body Surfing may help pass an obstacle.

Special Ready to Rock! cards activate stage cards and affect everyone. Special Guest makes every rocker draw a card, Shitty Weather makes everyone discard one, and Fire Explosion rotates all path cards 180 degrees, changing the situation for the entire concert.

Ready to Rock! is easy to learn but rewards awareness of the available paths and timely interference. Some card illustrations and content are not suitable for children, making it intended for players around age 14 and up.
