About this board game

Havok & Hijinks is a fast-paced card game for 2–4 players, with games lasting around 15 minutes. You play a young dragon exploring the countryside of Vallhyn, competing with friends to build the first respectable treasure hoard.

Recently kicked out of the nest for eyeing your parents’ treasure, you must now find loot of your own. Every quest can bring valuable treasure—or unexpected Havok, such as loot-hungry adventurers or beneficial heat waves. Success is never guaranteed, and every turn can change the race.

Once Havok has been resolved, you can use a Hijinks card to interfere with your opponents. Steal their shiny treasures, break valuable loot, or defend your own hoard from their schemes. You may also use your dragon’s play ability, adding another way to pursue the lead.

• Flip a Havok card at the start of your turn.
• Resolve any event exactly as the card states.
• Add any revealed treasure to your hoard.
• Play one Hijinks card, use your dragon’s ability, or discard one card to draw one.
• Pass the turn and let the next dragon begin.

The goal is simple: collect treasure until your hoard reaches a value of 15 or more. In practice, getting there means balancing your own quest for loot with timely attacks and defenses against your rivals.

With its high-fantasy setting, accessible rules, and playful take on dragon competition, Havok & Hijinks combines light strategy with plenty of take-that mischief. It is a compact race for treasure where every successful haul—and every well-timed hijink—can decide the winner.
