About this board game
A Sky of Stars is a 3–6-player roll-and-write game played in about 20 minutes, where players draw constellations and try to interpret one another’s creations.
As day gives way to night, the sky fills with radiant points that can be organized into evocative patterns. Inspired by the constellations associated with objects, animals, mythical creatures, and ancient gods, the game invites you to look at the stars with imagination.
Each player has a personal Sky and uses the Star Die to determine which stars to connect. By tracing those indicated points, you sketch the shape of a new constellation. The challenge is to create an image that communicates an idea while working within the stars provided.
- Roll the Star Die to identify the stars to connect.
- Sketch a constellation on your personal Sky.
- Have the other players guess the object or shape your drawing represents.
- Interpret the constellations created by the other players.
Every creation is evaluated by the other players, making each drawing a playful test of abstract thinking and visual communication. A successful constellation may be imaginative, recognizable, or simply compelling enough to inspire the right interpretation.
In A Sky of Stars, victory goes to the player who designs the most compelling constellations and successfully interprets those drawn by others. With its combination of drawing, guessing, and celestial themes, the game turns a handful of stars into a shared exercise in creativity.
