About this board game

Dunaïa is a 2021 expert management game for 2–4 players, with each game taking about 60 minutes. Ancient robots known as Dunaias awaken when a strange energy reaches them, and players must use their help to develop a village while pursuing the three objectives of a prophecy.

At the heart of Dunaïa is a clever, interactive die system. On each turn, a player chooses one available die and awakens the Dunaia with the matching value. That robot then works on the two buildings surrounding it, creating opportunities to advance development across the village.

The chosen die also has another purpose. After awakening a Dunaia, the player uses the die on the main board or on a building—including a hostile building—to perform a special action. Careful timing and flexible choices are essential as players respond to the opportunities available to them.

When the Dunaias help complete a building, players reap its benefits. Metal flowers serve as a precious currency, while memory chips can recreate artefacts from the ancient world. Building synergies on a player’s board are key to making the most of these rewards.

Because the prophecy changes with each game, no single plan remains fixed. Players must adapt their village development and combine their board elements effectively as they work toward its three objectives. With its interactive dice and evolving goals, Dunaïa makes every choice part of a larger plan.
