About this board game
Brew Crafters is a brewery-management board game for 2–5 players, with games lasting around 90 minutes. Set during a period of urban regrowth, it challenges players to build and optimize a growing craft brewery while competing for valuable resources and prestige.
Players manage workers, gather ingredients from local markets, and develop a brewing line capable of keeping beloved beverages rolling off the production line. Malt, yeast, fruit, and spices all play a role as you balance your brewery’s needs and make careful decisions about how to improve its operation.
- Manage a local craft brewery and use workers wisely.
- Compete for malt, yeast, fruit, and spices in local markets.
- Develop your brewing line with equipment upgrades and local farms.
- Work with a variety of specialty workers.
- Race to develop rotating gold-label specialty recipes.
At the heart of Brew Crafters is a distinctive brewery processing system that must be continually improved, monitored, and manned. Each brewery has access to equipment upgrades, local farms, markets, and specialty workers, creating many possible ways to develop your operation across repeated games.
The game draws on the tradition of classic Eurogames such as Agricola and Puerto Rico, while focusing its decisions around the challenges of craft brewing. Alongside day-to-day management, players compete to be first to develop several rotating gold-label specialty recipes, earning extra points and prestige.
After three years, the brewery that has built the strongest reputation and earned the most distinction is honored as the best local brewer. Released in 2013, Brew Crafters combines resource management, worker use, brewery development, and recipe competition in a richly themed contest for brewing supremacy.
