Sentinels of the Multiverse: Definitive Edition is a cooperative comic-book card game for 1–5 players, with games lasting about 60 minutes. Each player controls a Hero, using powers, abilities, and wits to work together and save the world.

Every game brings three to five Heroes into a fight against one Villain in a perilous Environment. The Villain and Environment are not controlled by dedicated players; instead, their decks are revealed and their card instructions are followed. Each Hero, Villain, and Environment has a dedicated deck, while Hero and Villain character cards show Hit Points and other character-specific information.

The Definitive Edition features all-new art, notably streamlined mechanics, and new stories to experience. Its included characters and locations offer a wide range of comic-book matchups:

• Heroes: Legacy, Tachyon, Wraith, Bunker, Absolute Zero, Unity, Argent Adept, Fanatic, Captain Cosmic, Haka, Tempest, and Ra.
• Villains: Baron Blade, Omnitron, Grand Warlord Voss, Citizen Dawn, Matriarch, and Akash’Buta.
• Environments: Megalopolis, Ruins of Atlantis, Wagner Mars Base, Insula Primalis, Magmaria, and Freedom Tower.

Each round begins with the Villain turn, followed by the Heroes in clockwise order around the table. The round ends with the Environment turn, after which the sequence repeats.

Sentinels of the Multiverse continues until the Heroes save the Multiverse or the Villain defeats them. Every turn reveals another part of the unfolding battle, making cooperation essential as the team faces the threats presented by each Villain and Environment.
