About this board game

Hit Z Road is a fast-paced, morbidly kitschy zombie road-trip game for 1–4 players, with games lasting about 60 minutes. Set along Route 66 from Chicago to California, it challenges you to survive a journey through an American countryside overrun by the undead.

Each round begins with an auction that determines player order and which adventure cards players will encounter. The resources used for bidding are also needed to fight the approaching zombie hordes, making every decision a tense calculation. Winning an auction may improve your position, but spending too much can leave you poorly equipped for the dangers ahead.

As the group travels south, adventure cards present increasingly difficult threats and create a different experience from one playthrough to the next. You may battle zombies, drive abandoned school buses, scavenge for gas and bullets, or explore locations filled with haunted carnivals and plumes of toxic gas.

Your goal is to remain alive until you reach the safe, sandy beaches of the California coast. The winner is the player who either accumulates the most points or survives the longest, so careful resource management matters as much as facing the dangers directly.

Released in 2016, Hit Z Road combines survival, auctions, and darkly playful zombie adventure into a compact race across a tainted American landscape.
