About this board game

CABO (Second Edition) is a card game for 2–4 players with a play time of approximately 45 minutes. Your objective is to finish each round with the lowest total value among your cards, even though you do not know all of your cards at the start.

Use special powers to peek at your own cards, spy on an opponent’s cards, or swap a card with another player. As information emerges, try to reduce your total and judge when you may have the lowest sum. When you think the moment is right, call “CABO” to end the round—but every other player receives one more turn.

The round ends after a CABO call or when the deck runs out. Players score the sum of their card values; if the CABO caller has, or is tied for, the lowest sum, that player scores 0 points. A missed CABO call results in a 10-point penalty.

This second edition includes modified rules, a scorepad, four player reference cards, and all-new artwork. Cards taken from the discard pile remain face up for the rest of the game, including when they are placed in front of players.

  • Non-matching cards create a penalty: keep all cards, including the drawn card, plus one additional card for each extra non-matching card.
  • A score of exactly 100 can be reset to 50 only once.
  • The game supports 2–4 players rather than the previous 2–5-player range.

Released in 2019, CABO combines hidden card information with tactical peeks, swaps, and timing. Can you uncover enough of your hand—and make the right call—to finish with the lowest score?
