About this board game

New York Slice is a 30-minute pizza-portion game for 2–6 players, released in 2017, in which players build collections one slice at a time.

Each round, a player divides pizzas into portions, then gives their opponents first choice before taking what remains. With a dozen pizza types in play, every portion presents a decision: should you eat slices for points or keep them to build a collection?

Most slices feature pepperoni, which can be eaten for points instead of being collected for a pizza-type majority. Anchovies are worth negative points, but collecting one may be necessary to gain the majority of a type. Ties are important too: when players tie for the most slices of a type, neither receives points.

Combo slices add another way to shape your collection. Each counts as half a slice of two pizza types, making it useful for breaking ties and influencing majorities.

Every pizza division also includes a Today’s Special. These specials may be assigned to a portion or placed separately, and they introduce powers and scoring opportunities that can change the value of a choice.

  • Call dibs on a slice before the pizza is divided.
  • Claim a normally out-of-game mystery slice.
  • Move a slice from one portion to another with a sneak-a-slice effect.

With 14 different specials, changing pizza combinations, and opponents choosing before you, New York Slice turns sharing into a deliciously tense challenge. Build the strongest collection while deciding which slices belong on your plate and which belong in your score.
