About this board game

Whirling Witchcraft is a simultaneous ingredient-management game for 2–5 players, with each game taking about 30 minutes. As a witch, you use recipes to transform magical ingredients, clear your workbench, and send excess materials toward your neighbors.

Each player begins with four recipe cards and ingredients on a workbench divided into limited spaces for five ingredient types. Every round, all players choose and reveal a recipe at the same time. You may then use recipes in play to convert and transform ingredients, using each recipe no more than once during the round.

Careful planning lets you build useful chains. You might turn a mushroom into a mandrake, then use two mandrakes—including the one you just created—to make three mushrooms. When your transformations are complete, place your final ingredients into a cauldron and pass it to the player on your right.

That player must fit every ingredient onto their workbench. Any ingredients that do not fit are returned to you and placed in your Witch’s Circle. If your circle reaches at least five ingredients, you win; otherwise, pass your recipe hand to the player on your left, refill to four cards, and begin another round.

• Simultaneous play: Choose and reveal recipes together, then resolve your transformations.
• Recipe flexibility: Some recipes can be played in either of two directions.
• Unique witches: Personality cards provide different powers and starting ingredients.
• Arcana bonuses: Some recipes feature arcana symbols that reward collecting enough of them.

With limited workbench space and ingredients constantly moving between players, Whirling Witchcraft challenges you to assemble the right cookbook—and leave your neighbor in hot water.
