About this board game
League of Six is a board game for 3–5 players, with play taking about 120 minutes. Set in 1430, it casts players as ambitious tax collectors seeking recognition in the court of King Sigismund.
Nearly a century after the founding of the League of Six, six wealthy Lusatian towns remain bound together to defend their commercial interests and preserve stability in the region. Yet Europe is experiencing unrest and upheaval, creating a challenging setting for those sent to collect revenue.
The game unfolds across six turns representing six years. Each player visits one of the six cities in the role of a tax collector, gathering goods that can be placed in the royal stores or the estate stores. These choices help determine each player’s influence in the court of King Sigismund.
- Play as a young, ambitious aristocrat serving as a tax collector.
- Collect goods during six years of competition.
- Place goods in royal or estate stores.
- Seek both revenue for the king and support from the estates.
Success requires more than simply bringing in money. The tax collector who raises the most revenue for the king while also gaining the support of the estates has the strongest chance of standing out and earning a place beside King Sigismund.
In League of Six, the winner is the player who gains the most influence. Originally released in 2007, the game is expanded by League of Six: Loyal Retinue.
