About this expansion

Seasons: Path of Destiny is a board game expansion for 2–4 players, with games lasting about 60 minutes. As the second expansion for Seasons, it sends powerful sorcerers into the Forest of Argos, where each seeks to fulfill a glorious destiny.

This expansion introduces 20 new Power cards, with two copies of each card. These additions bring fresh effects and new ways to influence the game, including the dangerous Argosian Tangleweed, the powerful Chalice of Eternity, and the mysterious Sepulchral Amulet.

  • Block another player’s familiar.
  • Reroll the die not chosen by any player.
  • Straighten a once-used card for 1 crystal and use it again during the same turn.

The central new concept is the Die of Destiny. Once per round, a player may take a die from the menu as usual, but roll the Die of Destiny instead of applying the selected die’s effects. Its bonuses are generally weaker than those of the Seasons dice, but the roll grants destiny tokens.

At the end of the game, the player with the most destiny tokens gains 20 prestige. In effect, the bonus rewards the player who relied least on the stronger Seasons dice, adding another layer of choice to each round.

Seasons: Path of Destiny is independent of the first expansion, Seasons: Enchanted Kingdom, and adds more variability and new concepts to your games. First-edition copies also include the special promo card Igramul the Banisher, created from Federico Latini’s winning entry in the September 2013 Seasons: Path of Destiny contest.
