About this expansion

Runewars: Banners of War is an expansion for 2–4 players that adds new armies, heroes, tactics, and cards to the epic fantasy conflict of Runewars, with games lasting about 240 minutes.

War continues to ravage the continent of Terrinoth as free cities change hands and rival nations struggle to slow their enemies. This expansion gives you new ways to customize your forces, strengthen existing units, and pursue victory while the war continues.

Eight new unit types—two for each faction—bring fresh options to the battlefield. You can also use new Development cards to upgrade existing units and purchase faction-specific abilities, helping you shape your armies to suit the unfolding conflict.

Heroes take a more prominent role through the Commanders of the Battlefield variant, which lets your most valiant leaders guide their forces to victory. New Hero cards, along with additional objectives, rewards, seasons, and orders, expand the possibilities presented during each campaign.

With its combination of new figures, faction options, and battlefield commands, Banners of War raises the stakes for Runewars. Recruit heroes, employ new tactics, and fight to become the ruler of Terrinoth.
