About this expansion
Saint Petersburg: New Society & Banquet Expansion is a two-part expansion for 2–5 players, with games lasting about 60 minutes. It combines the New Society and The Banquet expansions, which can be used separately or together.
Designed by Tom Lehmann, New Society adds replacement cards that change some costs or rewards, along with new cards for each phase. It also introduces the New Farmer, an entirely new line of worker that costs more but provides victory points during the Worker phase.
New Society also adds the extra tokens needed for five-player games. The fifth player does not receive a start token for a new phase. Instead, the player holding the fifth token receives two victory points as compensation, or two rubles on the first turn. This fifth token is used only in five-player games.
- New replacement cards with changed costs or rewards
- New cards for each phase
- The New Farmer worker line
- Extra tokens for games with up to five players
With five players, tokens advance two player positions each round, while the game continues through its four familiar phases: Worker, Building, Aristocrat, and Trading.
Designed by Karl-Heinz Schmiel, The Banquet adds cards with special powers. These cards give players different types of actions on their turns, adding another way to approach the game.
Whether adding one module or combining both, this expansion broadens the card selection and extends Saint Petersburg with new rewards, actions, and player-count options.
