About this expansion
HeroQuest: Against the Ogre Horde is a 1990 expansion for 2–5 players, with an approximate play time of 120 minutes. It adds a seven-adventure campaign that must be played in sequence, placing the Champions against a growing force of Ogres, Orcs, and Chaos influence.
Morcar has found a new way to weaken the Empire. His Chaos sorcerer, Festral, has infiltrated the subterranean fortress of the Dirgrusht Ogre clan and used a magical pool of Chaos power to control it. Raids on the Empire’s farmlands soon draw other Ogre clans and Orc tribes into the expanding army.
The expansion introduces variable Body Points, new Chaos Sorcerer Spells, and additional dungeon features. The spells include Mind Lock, Dominate, and Mind Blast, adding new elements to the encounters across the linked quests.
- A new Quest Book containing 7 sequential adventures
- 7 Citadel miniatures requiring assembly: 1 Ogre Lord, 1 Ogre Chieftain, 1 Ogre Champion, and 4 Ogre Warriors
- New full-colour, die-cut game board overlays, including a large overground starting tile and 2 double-sided room tiles
- 15 Chaos Spell tokens, 4 Stone Doorways, 4 Pit of Darkness tokens, 4 Secret Door tokens, 6 Fallen Rubble tokens, and 1 Ogre Throne
With its campaign structure, new spell rules, distinctive Ogre miniatures, and expanded collection of board features, HeroQuest: Against the Ogre Horde broadens the classic dungeon-crawling setting with a focused conflict against Morcar’s latest threat.
