Ginkgopolis: The Experts

About this expansion

Ginkgopolis: The Experts is an expansion for 2–5 players that adds six modular systems to Ginkgopolis, with games lasting about 45 minutes. Each module can be used individually or combined with any others, letting you tailor the experience to your preferences.

The expansion introduces new ways to develop the city and pursue points. New Buildings provide a separate supply of nine tiles, while Prestige Buildings add six face-up tiles arranged by color. Both modules remove three random tiles from the general supply, and each offers a different alternative when drawing tiles.

• Green Spaces: add special tiles that cannot cover existing buildings or be built upon. Urbanization near them scores additional points, and they contribute resources to adjacent districts during end-game majority scoring.
• Events: begin with two event tiles and play them alongside your chosen action card, gaining tiles, resources, or success points—or causing other players to lose success points.
• Keep a Card: retain a card during the Choose a Card step for a little more control.
• Experts: receive new character cards representing specialists from different disciplines. After drafting, players keep three Character cards and one Expert.

The Experts module adds new decisions to the starting draft, while also linking to Events: when both modules are used, your Expert determines which two Events you have for the game. The expansion also includes five player aid cards and four tokens worth 50 success points.

With its mix of avant-garde construction, green spaces, inspections, competitions, advertising campaigns, and specialist characters, Ginkgopolis: The Experts gives the city a broader range of possibilities while preserving its modular design.
