About this expansion

Memoir ’44: Through Jungle and Desert is a Memoir ’44 expansion for 2–8 players, with battles designed for sessions of about 60 minutes. It takes the action from the jungles of Burma to the sands of North Africa, adding historical scenarios, special rules, and new combat cards.

In the jungle scenarios, lead your men through Burma as they attempt to escape the Japanese grasp, or race toward Rangoon before British forces evacuate the city. The six standard pre-printed scenarios can be played individually or linked as a campaign, with the result of each scenario affecting the next.

  • Six standard pre-printed scenarios with historical background and special rules
  • Jungle Combat Cards and Desert Combat Cards
  • One token punchboard
  • Two pre-printed Overlord scenarios for larger battles

When the terrain changes, Stuart tanks and German Panzers clash in the desert during the first tank battle between U.S. and German forces. The expansion also includes an Overlord scenario set at Henderson Field in Guadalcanal, as well as a huge desert battle marking the beginning of the second battle of El Alamein in Operation Lightfoot.

To play Memoir ’44: Through Jungle and Desert, you need at least one copy of Memoir ’44, along with the Pacific Theater and Mediterranean Theater expansions. The publisher also recommends the Terrain Pack and Equipment Pack expansions. With its connected jungle campaign, contrasting battle environments, and expanded Overlord scenarios, this set broadens the historical range of the Memoir ’44 battlefield.
