About this expansion

Escape Room: The Game – Murder Mystery is an expansion for 3–5 players that challenges you to solve a murder case in a 60-minute escape room experience.

This scenario uses the Chrono Decoder, keys, and other components from the base game. You will work through three envelopes containing game boards and various items, with the aim of solving the case through the escape room format.

The expansion includes eight hint cards to support your investigation. These provide additional guidance as you work through the scenario and use the required components from the original game.

To play, you need the base game’s Chrono Decoder, 16 keys, Hint Decoder, and rules. You also need the rope from the Nuclear Countdown room and the mirror from Virus.

As an expansion, Escape Room: The Game – Murder Mystery requires these parts from the base game, so check that they are available before starting. Released in 2016, it adds a dedicated murder mystery scenario to the Escape Room: The Game system.
