About this expansion

51st State: Master Set – Moloch is a 2021 expansion for 1–4 players, with games lasting about 90 minutes. It adds a semi-cooperative experience in which hostile Machines threaten everyone at the table.

The Moloch State Pack includes 27 Moloch cards to shuffle into the Base Set cards, along with 23 double-sided Machine cards. During each round, new enemy Machines are deployed, creating dangers that players must decide whether to face together or handle alone.

Players can fight the Machines using two new actions: hacking or destroying. Hacking requires paying the resources shown in a Machine’s code. The player who hacks it flips the card and builds it as their own location, gaining access to a new ability.

Destroying a Machine requires Contact tokens equal to its defense level and rewards the player with victory points. However, leaving Machines in play has consequences. Any Machine that is neither hacked nor destroyed attacks all players during the Assault phase, dealing the damage shown on its card.

  • 27 Moloch cards to add to the Base Set
  • 23 double-sided Machines that can become locations or remain threats
  • Two new ways to confront Machines: hacking and destroying
  • A shared danger that supports cooperation or individual action

With its shifting balance between personal advantage and collective danger, 51st State: Master Set – Moloch gives players meaningful choices whenever a Machine appears. Work together to reduce the threat, claim a Machine for your own state, or pursue victory points by destroying it before the Assault phase.
