About this expansion
CDG Solo System is a 2022 solitaire system for one player, designed to streamline two-handed gameplay in Card Driven Games. It is a revised GMT Edition of Stuka Joe’s CDG solo method, created to reduce turn-to-turn overhead and maintenance while restoring narrative flow and fog of war.
The system plays alongside your favorite CDG rather than replacing it. As the great battles of history unfold on your tabletop, the method is intended to enhance the solitaire experience by making each side’s available cards less predictable and preserving more of the uncertainty associated with two-sided play.
Two Card Displays manage each side’s hand of strategy cards. At the beginning of each side’s turn, roll the custom Fate Die to determine which cards in one or more slots are available for play. Typically, two or three cards are available at a time, but the final decision about which available card to play remains yours.
- Two Card Displays for managing each side’s strategy cards
- A custom screen-printed Fate Die
- An official ruleset for the solo method
- Playsheets for six of GMT’s popular Card Driven Games
- A Cards Remaining track for managing the flow of play
After a card is played, move the marker on the Cards Remaining track one space to the left. Then roll the die for the other side’s turn, creating a clear rhythm between both sides of the game.
The GMT edition provides professionally printed components alongside the official rules and playsheets. For players who enjoy GMT’s Card Driven Games, CDG Solo System offers a focused way to explore those battles alone while emphasizing choice, uncertainty, and historical narrative.
