About this expansion

Mythic Battles: Pantheon – Dionysus is a 2018 expansion for 1–4 players, with a play time of about 90 minutes. It introduces Dionysus as a control-oriented unit built around opulence, chaos, and strategic disruption rather than direct combat.

Dionysus arrives with the Orgiastic Procession, bringing several troops with many activation cards. His abundance is reinforced by a high number of Art of War cards and a large number of life points, giving the expansion a distinctive sense of excess.

The satyr children help control the battlefield through their Block talent. Rather than physically overpowering opposing units, they represent enemies becoming distracted by wine and feasting. Their presence can disrupt an opponent’s position and create significant control over the map.

  • Map control: Satyr children use Block to interfere with enemy movement and positioning.
  • Support and disruption: Troops use Bolster, while Dionysus can force an opponent to discard cards from their deck.
  • Omphalos gathering: Satyr children can bring Dionysus Omphalos through the Gem Collector talent.

The satyr children cannot attack or collect gems themselves, reflecting their role in serving wine to units in their area. Dionysus also has low mobility, so careful placement is important, but his influence can extend across the battlefield and interfere with opposing plans.

With its emphasis on technical positioning, card disruption, and alternate control-focused tactics, Mythic Battles: Pantheon – Dionysus offers a chaotic way to pursue victory by attaining Omphalos.
