In the Hall of the Mountain King: Champions Mini-Expansion is a 2019 board game expansion for 1–5 players, with a listed play time of 90 minutes. It adds legendary troll champions to the effort to reclaim the mountain, giving each player a powerful new option to draft.

Each game, one champion remains undrafted. Rather than disappearing without benefit, this champion gains one item and becomes more enticing the next time it is available. When you draft a champion, you receive all the items it accumulated while it was “sitting on the bench.”

This creates a changing selection of champions across games. Players can weigh the immediate advantages of available champions against the possibility that an undrafted champion will become more rewarding later.
