About this expansion

Deep Sea Adventure: Expansion Dice is a dice expansion for Deep Sea Adventure that supports games with 2–6 players. Released in 2021, it replaces one of the two regular dice and adds special results that can dramatically change how far an explorer moves.

The expansion die has six sides: one side showing one dot, two sides showing two dots, one side showing three dots, and two sides displaying special numbers. These special results introduce a little extra drama and may lead to unexpected developments during the game.

• x3: Multiply the number rolled on the regular die by three. A roll of 3 on the regular die therefore allows movement of 9 spaces.
• Number of Explorers In Front of You: The result equals the number of other explorers in the direction the active player is moving. In a six-player game, if five players are ahead, the result is 5.

The direction of movement matters when resolving the explorer-count result. This gives the die a situational effect that depends on the positions of the other players rather than only on a fixed number of dots.

The expansion die can also be used with Deep Sea Adventure Boost. For that variant, exchange the die showing 1 or 3 dots for the expansion die, and calculate the x3 result at the end. Under these rules, the maximum possible result becomes 15.

Designed as a compact addition to the original dice system, Deep Sea Adventure: Expansion Dice offers two distinctive special rolls while retaining the familiar use of a regular die alongside it.
