About this expansion

Donning the Purple: Votes & Virtue is an expansion for 1–4 players with a 120-minute play time, adding a General, senate voting, a new heir mat, and lots of new cards.

This expansion introduces a new role with its own unique player mat. The fourth player begins the game as the General, creating a new presence within the empire and adding another possible path toward power.

The General must pay attention to popularity among the legions. If he becomes too popular, the legions will proclaim him as the new emperor, giving this role a distinctive position in the struggle for control.

A new senate phase brings all players’ senators into the process. During this phase, players use their senators to vote on important matters that affect the empire.
