About this expansion

Hamburgum: Antverpia is a board game expansion for 2–5 players, with games lasting about 90 minutes. Set in Antverpia—16th-century Antwerp, Belgium—it places players in the roles of wealthy families competing to prosper through trade, construction, and church donations.

Players gain wealth by shipping sugar, cloth, and beer overseas, constructing new buildings, and supporting the city’s six most important churches. However, the wealthiest family does not automatically win. Victory goes to the family that has donated most wisely to the churches.

This expansion introduces a different map with a new allocation of buildings, along with distinct rules for donations and for visiting the church space on the rondel. Unlike the original Hamburgum, church districts do not exist, donations must be made in a specific order, and a church tax is included on the rondel. Ships also provide more victory points.
