Altiplano: Alpaca Rider Role Tile

About this expansion

Altiplano: Alpaca Rider Role Tile is a mini expansion for Altiplano, designed for 2–5 players with a playing time of 120 minutes. Released in 2018, it introduces a new special role tile for games that include the Traveler expansion.

The Alpaca Rider begins the game with a distinctive collection of starting resources: 1 food, 1 alpaca, 1 ore, 1 opal, and 1 coin. This gives the role a defined starting setup while adding a new way to interact with the Traveler’s changing position.

The Alpaca Rider’s action requires any one good and can be used at any location. After carrying out the action, move your player pawn to the location where the Traveler is currently located. This rule makes the Traveler’s position central to using the role tile.

• New role tile for Altiplano
• Playable only with the Traveler expansion
• Starts with 1 food, 1 alpaca, 1 ore, 1 opal, and 1 coin
• Action requires any one good and may be used at any location
• Moves your pawn to the Traveler’s current location

The Alpaca Rider Role Tile was included in the Deutscher Spielepreis 2018 Goodie Box, a product supporting the Deutscher Spielepreis, Germany’s second-largest board game award, where thousands of players vote each year for their favorite game between May and July. It was later also included in Level Up Loot 2.

For players who own the Traveler expansion, Altiplano: Alpaca Rider Role Tile adds a compact role option with a specific starting inventory and a location-based action tied directly to the Traveler.
