Shogun no Katana: Wandering Characters Expansion Set is an expansion for 1–4 players, with an approximate play time of 180 minutes and a 2022 release year.

The set introduces seven Wandering Character miniatures, each with its own rules. Some characters also come with tiles and tokens, giving players additional elements to incorporate during the game.

At the beginning of the game, four of the seven characters are placed randomly on the main gameboard. Players can activate these characters to receive special bonuses, with the bonus determined by the individual character.

Activating a Wandering Character is more than simply claiming its benefit. Before activation, you must move the character to another empty space on the board. This creates an important placement decision, since the location you choose may also help the next player.

Once a character has been moved and activated, another player can use that Wandering Character in the same way. Consider not only the bonus you need, but also where the character will be placed and how that choice may affect the turn order.
