About this expansion

World at War Compendium Vol. 1 is a 2009 magazine-style expansion for two players, with a listed play time of 90 minutes. It collects scenarios, articles, maps, and counters for the World at War game system.

With more than 100 pages, the compendium gathers every World at War scenario and most articles published in the first seven issues of Line of Fire. It also adds more than 30 pages of new content, including two new scenarios, a guide to Soviet player tactics, and the long-awaited World at War timeline.

The included scenarios cover a wide range of situations and settings, from Munich’s Highway, Rough Wake-up, and The Bridge at Passau to Crossing the Danube, Operational Maneuver Group, and Golan in the Mirror. Additional articles include tactical guidance, battle reports, design commentary, and an extended example of play.

  • Five 8.5 x 11-inch, 14-point card-stock maps
  • 88 die-cut counters, including Syrian and Israeli counters
  • A 100-page magazine containing scenarios and articles
  • All components packaged together in a zip-lock bag

The maps include those published in Line of Fire issues 1–7, along with two new maps. The counters likewise include material from those issues plus new Syrian and Israeli counters.

World at War Compendium Vol. 1 expands World at War: Eisenbach Gap, Death of the 1st Panzer, and Blood and Bridges. It is a magazine, map, scenario, and counter collection—not a separate game.
