Epic Munchkin

About this expansion

Epic Munchkin is a rules expansion for nearly every game in the Munchkin series, designed for 3–6 players and a listed play time of 120 minutes.

This expansion changes the game’s progression by moving the finish line from level 10 to level 20. Reaching level 10 is more than a milestone: it begins a new stage of play with additional rules and abilities.

Once a player reaches level 10, the rules for the Open a Door phase change to make it harder. This creates a more demanding second half as players continue their climb toward the new level 20 ending.

Epic Munchkin also introduces new abilities that become available at level 10. These additions cover a wide range of Munchkin elements:

• Races, classes, loyalties, accents, and steeds
• The Master, High, and Dark cards from Munchkin Dice

Because it is a set of rules rather than a standalone Munchkin game, Epic Munchkin expands compatible games across the series. Its focus is on extending the progression, changing the level 10 experience, and adding new options for the listed character and card features.

Released in 2003, Epic Munchkin is available as a free download from W23, the digital content distributor for Steve Jackson Games. It offers Munchkin players a straightforward way to apply a longer level range and enhanced level 10 rules to their games.
