The Last Hundred Yards: Volume 4 – The Russian Front is a tactical World War II game for 1–2 players, with missions lasting about 240 minutes. As the fourth volume in The Last Hundred Yards series, it covers major campaigns and missions from the second half of the war on the Eastern Front.

This volume introduces the Russian army to the series for the first time. Several missions recreate fighting in Ukraine near Krivoi Rog during October 1943, while others focus on the 1944 summer offensive known as Operation Bagration. The module includes all major Russian armor from late 1942 onward, along with additional late-war German armored vehicles.

A defining feature is its model of Russian tactical behavior. Russian forces have less local command-and-control flexibility and show general indifference to casualties when pursuing their missions, requiring a different approach from players. They rely on numbers to offset their lower tactical flexibility, creating distinctive tactical challenges at the table.

• Play missions set during the October 1943 fighting near Krivoi Rog and Operation Bagration.
• Command Russian forces or lead German attacks, including actions against Russian defenses.
• Adapt to the more open terrain frequently found in the western Ukraine.
• Use Russian armor from late 1942 onward and additional late-war German armored vehicles.

Although the period was marked by overall Russian initiative, it also included numerous German counterattacks. The Last Hundred Yards: Volume 4 – The Russian Front therefore presents missions in both directions, from Russian offensives to German attacks against prepared Russian positions.

The base game, The Last Hundred Yards, and Volume II, Airborne Over Europe, are core volumes for the European series. Both are required to play this Russian module, Mission Pack 1, and future modules in the series.
