About this expansion

World at War: Operation Garbo is a two-player expansion for the World at War game system, with approximately 240 minutes of play time. Set in the hills and valleys of Sweden, it depicts the violation of the country’s long-kept neutrality by the Soviet Army.

Swedish forces bring a distinctive collection of armored vehicles and support units to the series. Their lineup includes an upgraded Mark 4 variant of the British Centurion tank, the famous turretless Swedish S-tank, and the combat-proven PBV 302 armored personnel carrier.

Other Swedish units add further variety to the battlefield. AT helicopters, tracked TOW and SAM launchers, and the hard-hitting but fragile IKV 91 tank destroyer join the heavier tank units. Home Guard forces, described as old men with old rifles, and fast jeep-driving reconnaissance units provide additional support.

The expansion includes six scenarios set across two mounted 11 × 17-inch maps. Its 176 counters represent the forces and equipment needed to bring the Swedish setting to the table.
