About this expansion

Endangered: American Red Wolf Scenario is a cooperative conservation challenge for 1–5 players, with a playing time of about 90 minutes. Work with fellow conservationists to help save the American Red Wolf and support its recovery.

Once found throughout the southeastern United States, thousands of American Red Wolves now survive in the wild only as a small population in North Carolina. This makes them the most endangered wolf in the world, and their continued survival depends on careful conservation efforts.

The population has grown through a carefully managed breeding program. In 1987, American Red Wolves were reintroduced to Alligator River National Wildlife Refuge. As of 2023, releases are still taking place there, while the population’s area has expanded beyond the refuge.

In this scenario, conservation is about more than protecting wolves. You and your team must challenge negative stereotypes and gain the support of landowners, creating the foundation for coexistence in the recovery area.
