About this expansion
Space Race: The Card Game – Interkosmos is a 2018 card game for 1–5 players, with games lasting about 90 minutes. It adds China’s National Space Administration to the competition to build the most developed space agency and claim fundamental space race achievements.
This addition to the base game introduces a Chinese space program through dedicated Control Cards. These cards make the game playable for five players while adding new ways to integrate control into the developing space race.
Players can encounter notable elements of China’s space program, including Taikonauts such as Yang Liwei, Project 863, the Xichang Satellite Launch Center, and the Heavenly Palace space program. These additions expand the range of space-focused cards and themes available during play.
- Chinese Space program Control Cards for games with up to five players
- A set of new Space Race cards
- Building costs as a new game mechanism
- More attractive Breakthrough competition
- Additional Achievements as a new card type to claim
Interkosmos also adds further frontiers to cross in the form of Achievements. Alongside the new cards and mechanisms, these claimable cards provide another way to pursue progress while competing to develop the leading space agency.
