Drop Zone: Sainte-Mère-Église is a Historical Advanced Squad Leader module for 1–2 players, with games lasting about 120 minutes, that recreates the first two days of fighting around the Norman town during Operation OVERLORD.

Set behind Utah Beach, the town of Sainte-Mère-Église was a crucial crossroads for the U.S. Fourth Infantry Division as American forces fought inland. The 82nd Airborne Division’s 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment was tasked with protecting it from German counterattacks aimed at bottling up the Americans on Utah Beach.

Players take on the struggle between American paratroopers and a varied German defense. The opposing forces include Georgians from Ost Bataillon 795, regular troops from Grenadier-Regiment 1058, and the well-equipped Sturm-Bataillon AOK 7, all supported by ad-hoc armor units.

Each side attacks and defends in an effort to surpass its historical counterpart. As the American player, can you hold Sainte-Mère-Église and expand the perimeter by pushing German forces off the map? As the German player, can you retake the town and delay the invasion?

The maps were jointly crafted by Sharon Boyd, designer Ken Dunn, and artist Charlie Kibler. With its focused historical setting and multiple scenarios and campaigns, Drop Zone: Sainte-Mère-Église presents the opening act of the Normandy invasion as a tense contest for a strategically important town.
