About this expansion
Dorn: Koschei’s Eternal Return is a 2009 expansion for the board game Dorn, supporting 2–6 players in games of about 60 minutes. It introduces Koschei the Deathless as a new boss and sets the heroes against a threat that refuses to stay defeated.
Koschei moves freely across the board and keeps resurrecting. To end his return, the heroes must open the gate and destroy the magical egg that holds his heart. This central objective gives the expansion a clear and dangerous task to pursue.
Five new heroes expand the available choices: a druid, troubadour, thief, psionic, and barbarian. The evil side also gains five new hideous monsters, adding fresh forces to the conflict.
- Koschei the Deathless, a freely moving boss who resurrects
- Five new heroes, including a druid, thief, psionic, and barbarian
- Five new hideous monsters
- Totems that cannot move but grant bonuses to surrounding monsters
- New Treasures, Blessings, and Rituals
- Personal quests for every hero, plus similar quests for the evil side
The evil side can build totems, stationary objects that give bonuses to nearby monsters. These additions create new points of interest on the board and strengthen the forces standing between the heroes and their goal.
Each hero receives a specific personal quest, offering an individual objective alongside the fight against Koschei. Completing that quest grants a special reward, while the evil side has similar quests of its own. With new content for both sides, Dorn: Koschei’s Eternal Return broadens the original game with resurrection, magical objectives, character-focused missions, and additional tactical possibilities.
