About this expansion

Concise Collection of Classes: New Classes and Character Options for Four Against Darkness is a solo supplement for one player, designed for 75-minute sessions and released in 2019. It introduces nine new character classes, along with additional options for dwarf characters and rules for new weapons.

Choose an assassin who hides before delivering astounding killing blows, or take control of a fire elf who is blind but commands a deadly gaze of fire. The harlequin juggles and fights with three swords, while the lutin can turn invisible and play tricks. The marksman relies on lightning-fast shots, and the monk is a specialist described as deadlier than the warrior.

  • Ogre mercenary: slow but indestructible
  • Elder: lends skills and guides party members
  • Wilderness guide: a valuable friend in the wilds

The new classes include rules to advance them to Expert level with Four Against the Abyss. A second section focuses on six dwarven clans, each offering skills exclusive to dwarf characters from 3rd level onward. Dwarven patrons add further variety through unique benefits and drawbacks, and some can join the party.

Decide whether to stand with the Miner clans, masters of rune magic and disciplined warfare; the animist Pelter clan savages; the obsessive Dragonslayers; or the martial artist Iron Hands, whose weapons are grafted. The desperate Outcasts and evil Possessed offer still more distinctive paths.

Concise Collection of Classes also adds rules for crossbows and harquebuses, giving Four Against Darkness players more ways to shape their characters and party.
